Day 1 Charles

A campus sports field I saw walking to Charles

Went with Daniel to get his car aligned.  We ate at a small breakfast place, and he found a hair in his pancakes. [The guy took Daniels plate away and gave us a 'new' pancakes]  We're both reasonably sure the guy just put them on a different plate.  I got a ride to a subway station to go meet Charles, but Daniel couldn't find the station and drove to another one [He was driving around lost for a good 15 mins, and ended up driving most of the way there.  That was my first introduction to Fly like a G6]. 

I met with Charles and we headed back to his and his fiancee's place.  Nancy is really shy, but seems nice.  We had a quick dinner of rice vermicelli and chicken in thai sweet and spicy sauce.  I proved pretty useless in the kitchen, which I blame on unfamiliar ingredients (bok choy and rooty cilantro =/). [I realize that is not a valid excuse, but we'll let that slide right?]  We went out for some pool and a couple drinks to prove we all suck at pool.

Today Sept 1st

[A pretty lazy day given my busy busy weekend.  Not much of a post today folks]

I woke up and ate congee with my aunt Mei Ling.  I picked up a change purse at Pacific mall of domo.  I got 2 because the deal and I came back. [$8 for 1, $10 for 2]  I played Starcraft 2 and L4D2 until Daniel came back.  We went shopping with more of his friends [they were all pretty young, like 19-21.  There was a lot of sitting around and watching them texting.  I felt really old.], and afterwards Daniel and I went to Hot Yoga.  It was really amazing how much I sweat. [There was a point where I was doing a downward dog... and slipped off my own sweat]  Yoga was fun, but I am really inflexible and couldn't do some positions.  In the end, I'd go again, but only if someone else wanted to. [The hot yoga was apparently a different set of positions than normal, because we kicked it off and ended it with a bunch of ab exercises]

[So yes, no pictures today.  I would have brought the camera in to snap pics of sweaty men/women in tight clothes, but I don't think they would have approved of it]

Yesterday Tuesday August 31st

[I don't know why I didn't elaborate too much on this day, I guess I was tired.  It was actually really cool meeting Daniel's friends.]

Yesterday Daniel brought me to sushi with his friends and we ordered way too much. [I met some really cool people.  A phillipino military mohawk guy that was crazy fun, and a girl named Michelle who was made fun of a lot stand out.  The phillipino guy wanted to take some fob pictures at pmall, and I declined.  Later on I grew to regret this as I have no pictures of that day]  I met some of his friends and we hung out at Pacific mall. [I had a fresh made real-fruit mango smoothie for 2 bucks... oh how I love P-mall]  Afterwards Daniel and I went to the Scarboro town centre for a movie, but it was too busy so we just shopped. [I also discovered Daniel is a stylish shopper... who is really bad when it comes to spending money]

Wonderland Day!

Wonderland Day Monday August 30th

We woke up and went to dim sum, after picking up Kit and Danny.  It was HOT!  When we got to wonderland it was blaring.

The first ride we went on was the Behemoth.  It was crazy.  The drop at the beginning put me out of sorts, and the top gun and stunt ride didn't help. [I was dizzy ALL day from that first ride]  I was pretty set on getting Nita a doll, but Danny won a Domo doll first. [Beat out a bunch of kids at whack-a-mole.  When I was playing against Danny, I hit one of the gophers and it broke off the stick and fell into the machine.  The carny chick gave me my 2 bucks back and told me not to ride the Behemoth because I would break it *flex*]  From that I tried to win a rope climbing game, and scraped my leg pretty bad.  The bruise got worse and worse a few days to come.  Eventually I won a pokemon doll of Sudowoodo, and beat out a kid and her mom at the spray gun water race. [I actually feel bad about this one, because the mom was like "okay, but only 1 more try.  We can't play anymore" because the kid kept bugging her to play... she seemed frustrated]  We ended the day on the Vortex and headed back to pack up and eat.

We had some sushi/korean/japanese food, and the Ottawans went back.  Later Daniel and me went to BBT with his friends.
[No pictures this one folks.  My camera was out of batteries that day, so all the Wonderland pics are with Kit.  I'll post some if I can get a hold of them]

Convention Day 3

Convention Day 3 Sunday August 29th

Sunday wasn't even the busy day.

Witch!

The comic dealers are getting better with deals, so I bought a bunch. Met up with Nita and she was waiting in line for Gary Frank for me. God she is amazing. [Nita went earlier than me since she stayed downtown, and was in line for a good while before I got there]

I got his signature [He wrote "Cheese!" instead of "Cheers!" which he tried fixing, I guess he was hungry haha, really nice guy] and met up with her @ a sketching duel, which was pretty amazing. It was good to see artists taling about what they do/love. [They drew Nightwing, Power Girl, and Wolverine]

Took lots and lots of pictures that turned up blurry. [The people would pose, and I'd run up with a bunch of other photo takers and hastily snap, leading to blurry pics] Nita and I ate at a downtown restaurant, and I got a signature by Alex Maleev, who was a bit of a drama queen. [He also used a black marker on my black cover =/] I gave Nita her B-day gift and we went to bed. [Keychains]
