The long trek... continues to continue.

Sudbury Sept 4th (still)

People are avoiding me like... well... a chinese guy on a greyhound to Manitoba.  Bus is full, but there's a nice enough dude beside me. Plus he's getting off in an hour.
[The ride was a bit cramped, and it was super dark.  There wasn't much to do other than try to sleep uncomfortably]
[Shortly after this, he left and another guy came on beside me.  The bus driver made a stop and said to be back on in 10 minutes.  The guy was no where to be found after the 10 minute break, and we left without him.  This actually happened a 2-3 times during this ride to Winnipeg.  I wonder what happened to them, because the bus driver takes their tickets.  So they're stuck at a small highway bus stop convenience store and lost the money on their ticket]

The long trek... continues.

Sudbury 5h's in

Rocks and trees built into the town

Ate at McDonalds... mmm.

Changed out of my tight jeans into PJ pants [SUCH a good idea]

bought some fruit from a sketchy farmers market, but the old couple were nice

Drive-by shooting of the Farmers Market

[Most of the other passengers were at the greyhound station, I went for a walk since there was a 2 hour break.  I felt really gross getting fast food all the time.  I went to the farmers market, which was just a big stand in the middle of nowhere.  The season was closing for them because it was getting cold, and a lot of the fruit was going bad.  I did buy a few decent pieces of fruit and the old gentleman threw in a peach for me.  It was kind of sad, they were pretty thrilled that someone bothered to come buy 2 bucks worth of fruit.]

The long trek... The beginning

Sept 4th Saturday

Saw him on the way to the greyhound.  Bahahaha!
I was supposed to go to Niagra Falls, but due to weather and time, I chose not to.  Instead some nice breakfast with Charles then onto Winnipeg.  When I finally got around to buying the discovery pass [my cross canada bus pass], I realized I lost my credit card.  I dropped by BMO to pay off my purchases and pause my card.  I have 5 days to find it before it's cancelled.  On the plus note, Charles gave me a AC/USB adapter so I can wall charge my itouch

Long boring ride ahead...

Total trip time.  ETA 1 Day 7 Hours!!!

[We stopped at a station to get food, and everyone jetted to tim hortons.  The guy said 10 minutes, so I figured I had time to go to Lick's for a burger.  I cut it really close, and made sure to not ever do that again.  I ended up getting fries or a hotdog instead, just to make it really quick]

Charles Day 2... And thennnn

*later that night*
and then it rained... hard.

[It was really bad.  I was finishing up my last entry when I felt the first few drops.  We packed up our guitars and started running as the rain started going.  By the time we made it to a hotel front door, it was really coming down and we were pretty wet.  Just short of soaked, we headed back once the rain calmed down a bit and walkable]

Charles Day 2

Charles Day 2

Waterfront behind Charles' place

Today we had some pancakes, and Nancy went to work.  We chilled out and I settled some packing stuff waiting for the rain to die.  After it did, we went out to get something for Charles to fix his friend's monitor.  On our way out was a Chicago player with the Stanley Cup [What cross canada trip would be complete without seeing the Stanley Cup?  The cup was literally right outside Charles' building, random right?].  There was a big line and no camera (charging), so we kept going. [Also, we saw the Canadian Snow birds fly overhead... that or 5 random jets with smoke streaming behind them]

We came back and had sandwiches before going on a walk. [This is where I discovered liverwurst.  Until now, I just thought there was pate]  Charles' neighbourhood isn't great, but is really close to a beautiful path/park.  [We walked in the evening for about a half hour to hour and settled down on the waterbank on some rocks]  We're playing guitar and I'm writing into the night.
