Get up on this has been one of my most consistently listened to podcasts. I have worked in very mundane and mind numbing jobs and this podcast has been a lifesaver. I've found out recently that when I work, take care of a house, take care of a kid, spend time with my wife, and try to write, I lose sight of what's new and interesting. This of course made me a very boring person until I started listening to Get Up On This to keep informed. The podcast presents a slew of new or interesting things ranging from music, movies, games, foods, or pretty much anything. Since listening to this podcasts I have found a lot of great albums and documentaries, many of which show up on this blog. It should also be mentioned that the hosts Jensen Karp and Matt Robinson hit a great range of interests and are genuinely great personalities. A good chunk of my enjoyment of the show is just following their lives and hearing their opinions.

I'm going to go a bit different and do a full out artist instead of just a song. I originally heard about Flume from the Get Up on This podcast. They played his song 'Sleepless' and I really loved the vibe. Flume is an Australian DJ that incorporates Hip Hop inspired beats with Trance-y cuts. Normally, I actually quite dislike most of the slower paced DJ's as I find they're made exclusively for people on drugs. With Flume, however, I feel that he has a signature sound that doesn't overdo the drug-trip feel that I tend to lump DJ's like him into.
I loved his album so much that I immediately paid for it on itunes and never regretted it once. His self-titled album is near perfect and was a huge inspiration for me when writing my comic 'Son of God'. It's hard to pick and choose my favourite songs from him, but I've put a small list of songs below that can give a good tasting of his work.
- Flume (ft. Jezzabell Doran) - Sleepless
- Disclosure - You and Me (Flume Remix)
- Flume (ft T Shirt) - On Top
- Flume - Holdin On
Special mention goes to Flume's song 'Insane' which was my main fuel for my comic. If you are to listen to it, pop on some headphones and turn up the song, and listen all the way through. It's an experience.
